Release 1.4a - Interactions Rework and Android Support


This release was a bit of a slog, but I'm happy to finally be able to share it!

One of the big features in this release is a rework of the interactions system.  Several players commented that the point-and-click system for choosing actions on interactable objects was overkill when most objects only have one or two actions.  This interaction model was a leftover from a previous game prototype that I used as the basis for Innsurrection, so I could get a working demo up and running sooner.  But it's 100% true that it did not fit this style of game well.  So I finally went about fixing it.

Now to interact with objects in the scene, you need to move Bran to the object so that he is facing it when you press up or down.  The selected object now flashes white, and your list of actions are presented across the bottom of the screen, associated with particular keys or buttons.  I went with a press-and-hold method to confirm you are selecting the desired option.

Another major feature in this release is that we have added Android support, so now you can play Innsurrection on phones and other mobile devices!  Adding touch-screen support was a bit of a rabbit-hole to go down.  I had to rethink some of the inputs for keyboard/mouse and gamepad to be able to unify all three input devices.  Like everything in this demo, it's enough to get the job done but still needs some tweaking in future versions.  As always, player suggestions are welcome!

Lastly, so that this update isn't just boring technical improvements, I implemented character chatting.  In the opening story, you can now pass that empty space until the end of the night by talking to your friends and Gryndlethorn.  You can choose whether or not you have a drink with each of them, and your alcohol level affects some of the dialog that night, and even the next morning.

For the next update, I hope to focus more on content - more story and assets - to make up for the relatively minor addition in this release.

Known Issues:

  • Sometimes, activating the chat action with Oroc customers after the opening story will do nothing - Bran will move to the talking position but dialog will not begin.  Work around this by reloading your game (but remember to save first!)  You should only need to do this once.
  • During clean-up the next morning after the opening story, sometimes glasses are not visible on the counter.  If you think you've washed all the glasses but the story isn't advancing, try standing in front of each bar stool and see if any still have the pick-up empties option enabled.  If so, activate it and clean the remaining glasses that you pick up.

Funciona bien y todo me permite entrar a juego con normalidad has dónde sale para comenzar a jugar,cuando presionas mientras está la pantalla de carga después de terminar se me queda congelado,no avanza de ahí.

No sé porque que será puede ser por mí teléfono o un pequeño problema que tenga lástima que no me permita jugar perfectamente,espero que en una futura actualización me funcione 👍
