Android Build (v1.4a)

Hello, I just wanted to write a post to explain what is going on with the Android version of Innsurrection.

We added Android support in the latest version (1.4a at the time of writing), and within a few days of the release we received feedback from a number of players that they were having issues with the game on this platform.  The issues mainly revolved around problems with loading the game beyond the title screen, where it either gets stuck indefinitely on the loading screen, or crashes after the loading bar fills all the way.

Since then, I've been doing online research about what can be done to fix loading issues and improve frame rate in games exported from Godot (the game engine I've used to develop Innsurrection).

The suggestions included updating to the latest version of Godot (which I've done, version 4.4.1 as of writing this), disabling anti-aliasing (which I discovered wasn't enabled to begin with), exporting the project in release mode instead of debug mode (which I've done), and the winner: changing the rendering settings to GL Compatibility for mobile.

After this last change, I found the game loaded just as fast as on my Android device as it did on my desktop computer, with similar frame rate performance.  There are still the occasional minor lag-outs but I think this has more to do with sound resources loading for the first time.

I'm not able to verify whether this change will fix the issues for the players that were experiencing problems (because I only have my Samsung Galaxy S21 to test it out on, and it was working previously), but I have high hopes!  So if the game was crashing for you, or even if it wasn't and you want a better experience when playing on your Android device, then please download and install the v1.4a release for Android again - I've replaced the old file with the fixed version.
