Story

You play the role of Bran Hearthstone, a 30 year old man who is managing his family's inn and tavern in the port town of Riftrock while his parents are away on a business trip.

During that time, Oroc soldiers invade and occupy Riftrock, taking control of its leadership, replacing its law enforcement, and imposing a blockade on ships entering the port.  But despite this invasive act, they are surprisingly fair and reasonable toward you and your fellow human villagers.

The Orocs need a place to drink and socialize at the end of their day, and they have chosen your tavern.  You need the money to help your struggling business.  And the newly formed resistance is very interested in anything you learn about the Orocs.

Gameplay

The bartending day cycle is a core element of the game:

• Oroc customers enter the tavern, take a seat, and place orders.
• You must bring them the correct drinks before time runs out to keep them happy.
• Pouring and delivering drinks earns you EXP, which allows you to level up and improve your drink carrying capacity and other bartending skills.
• In future, you will be able to use the money you earn to make upgrades to the bar.

There is also a story element to the game, told in Visual Novel style dialog.  At many points in the dialog you are presented with choices, which can affect the direction of the story or impact how characters feel about you.  Managing your relationships with characters will also become a critical aspect to the game, because it will affect your performance as an informant for the resistance.  If the Oroc leader gets what he's after, it could have dire consequences for the inhabitants of Riftrock, and even the whole world!

Expectations

• This is a bare-bones playable demo.  There isn't a lot of flash or polish, and many many planned features are still in development.  We plan to improve graphics and expand features over time.
• The game is only available on Windows and Mac for now, we are working toward releasing for other platforms in future.
• The application is not signed, so you will need to ignore or work around security warnings about the app or publisher being unrecognized.
• We use AI-generated concept art as a TEMPORARY placeholder that will be replaced with final artwork over time.  ex. Oroc portraits.
• The game is currently only in English.  We will look into localization for other languages in future.
• Saved games from the current release may not not be compatible with future releases.
